FLN Quiz Competition, Tamil Nadu
"An FLN quiz competition was conducted for three days between March 18th to March 21st 2025, with participation from 35 schools in Gummidipoondi block, Tamil Nadu. Over 400 students took part in the competition, which saw enthusiastic involvement from students, headmasters, and teachers. The event was a success, thanks to the support of the donors—Kemin and Vibha organisations—and the dedicated efforts of Sikshana Mentors. The competition featured three rounds, assessing students on FLN competencies. The first round was conducted across six locations, followed by the second round at two locations. The final round took place in Pethikuppam, with the Block Education Officer (BEO) in attendance. Teachers and headmasters shared encouraging feedback, while two managers from Kemin also participated, reinforcing their support for the initiative."
All-hands meeting, 2025
"Sikshana Foundation held a two-day All-Hands Meeting from February 10th to 12th, 2025, bringing together employees from across teams and six states to share insights, discuss program updates, and strengthen collaboration. The sessions featured discussions between the management team and program staff in multiple rounds, assessing mentors’ understanding of the programs, addressing concerns, and gathering suggestions for the pedagogy team. This gathering served as a valuable platform for collective reflection, knowledge sharing, and team bonding, reinforcing our commitment to driving meaningful change together."
Teacher training: Digital Skills Awareness Program
"On January 24, 2024, a one-day training, the second of its kind, was organized for high school teachers from 20 schools at the Brillio Hub office in Bangalore. Led by the Sikshana team with support from Brillio volunteers, the session covered topics like cybersecurity, learning outcomes from the Digital Skills Awareness Program, and an introduction to the program dashboard. Teachers shared their feedback, and the event concluded with taking a few group pictures."
National Girl Child Day, 2025
"40 government school girl students accompanied by two teachers of Maddur block had the opportunity to visit the CGI office in Bangalore as part of the National Girl Child Day celebrations on January 24, 2025. They were engaged in various activities, and they also had the opportunity to interact with the Leadership team. The aim of this exercise was to inspire and encourage young girls to pursue education and build their confidence."
Regional level Math exhibition
"A regional math exhibition was held on January 24th & 25th, 2025, at Chinnaobulapuram Panchayat Union Middle School, Gummidipoondi, in collaboration with Kemin Industries. The event brought together 1,400 students from 35 government schools, who showcased their projects. Certificates were awarded to all participants, and gifts were distributed to the top three winners at the school level. Gummidipoondi BEOs Munirajasekar, Sudha, and Sivakami inaugurated the event. Representatives from Kemin, including Dr. Suresh Kumar and team, along with Vibha Foundation Director Scotlin and Sikshana Foundation Director Rama, were also present."
Math Day Celebration – A Tribute to Dr. Ramanujan
"In celebration of Dr. Srinivasa Ramanujan's birth anniversary, Sikshana Foundation hosted interactive Math Day session in the schools of Junnar and Khed Blocks, Pune district, Maharashtra. Held on January 9th and 10th, 2025, the event focused on promoting foundational mathematical skills through engaging, hands-on activities that encouraged problem-solving and logical thinking. The celebration saw active participation from 667 students, 30 teachers, and 23 parents, creating a dynamic and educational experience. As a token of appreciation, participants received stationery items. This initiative represents a significant step in enhancing mathematical understanding in the region."
Shikshankur, a special winter camp
"Shikshankur, a special winter camp, was held on November 5, 2024, across 10 schools in the Junnar and Khed blocks, Pune district, Maharashtra. The event brought together 550 students, engaging them in creative and educational activities. Through remedial support sessions, songs and games, the camp promoted skill development and teamwork."
STEM and FLN Program Launch at Hannur, Chamarajanagar
"Sikshana STEM and FLN Program was launched on October 24, 2024, at Ambedkar Samudaya Bhavan, Hannur, Chamarajanagar. The focus of the Program is to equip students with critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaborative skills along with improving foundational skills through FLN Program. Ms Shilpa Nag, District Commissioner of Chamarajanagar, members from RSA organization including Mr Dhirajj Choraria, Director of Finance RSA, Ms. Sweta Saxena, CS, RSA and Mr Prasanna, CEO of Sikshana Foundation were present during the event."
Shiksha copilot launched to empower teachers with Gen AI
"Karnataka’s Minister of School Education and Literacy, Sri Madhu Bangarappa, launched the Shiksha copilot on October 18th, 2024, at Vidhana Soudha. This AI-powered digital assistant is a research project, which is a collaboration between Sikshana Foundation and Microsoft Research India, aims to improve learning outcomes and support 1,000 government school teachers across Karnataka. Backed by Microsoft India CSR, Shiksha copilot helps teachers create personalized, high-quality teaching resources while saving time. It offers dynamic lesson plans, activities, assessments, and a chatbot for interactive content generation. This initiative enhances education in both urban and rural districts."
Vachan Prerana Diwas
"Vachan Prerana Diwas was celebrated on October 15, 2024, in 26 schools across the Khed and Junnar blocks of Pune district, marking the birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former President of India. As part of Sikshana’s social classroom initiatives, Prerana Club leaders organized a "Bal Sabha," involving 385 students in activities such as reading sessions, word-building exercises, and speeches to honor Dr. Kalam."
Teachers’ Day Celebration
"A unique event, Bal Sabha, part of Sikshana Foundation’s social classroom initiative, was celebrated in schools of Khed and Junnar blocks of Pune district. This was on occasion of Teachers’ Day, where, Prerana Club members from various schools actively participated. During the event, class-wise Peer Learning Group (PLG) stepped into the role of teachers, sharing their personal experiences and narrating the inspiring journeys of their own class teachers. A total of 69 PLG leaders from Khed and 113 PLG leaders from Junnar took part in the event. In all 43 schools, parents and School Management Committee (SMC) members participated in a Bal Sabha organized to honor the teachers."
Aqriti Spoken English Program Launch
"On August 23, 2024 Aqriti Spoken English Program was launched at Karnataka Public School D Palya, Gowribidanur. Mr. Ravi Rao - Senior Director Finance; Mr. Srinivasa Kumar, Vice President of Engineering; Mr. Aby Babu, CSR Professional from Qualcomm and Mr Naveen Chikkanna from Sikshana Foundation were present."
Teacher Training at Brillio Hub Office
"One day training for the high school teachers from 20 schools was hosted at the Brillio Hub office, Bangalore on August 22, 2024. The training was conducted by the Sikshana team followed by a hands-on session. The Brillio volunteers engaged the teachers in an introduction to generative AI prompts. In addition, they distributed participation certificates to the 17 teachers present. Mr. Sridhar Krishnamurthy, Managing Director and Global Practice Head; Dr Meghana Shashidhar, Manager Sustainability were part of the event."
STEM and FLN Program Inauguration at Kengeri
"Sikshana STEM and FLN Program was launched on August 10, 2024, at GHPS Koluru, Kengeri. The focus of the Program is to equip students with critical thinking critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaborative skills along with improving foundational skills through FLN Program. Representatives from TE, including Ms. Juhi Jayanandan, Deputy Manager, CSR & Communication, Mr. Praveen Ganesh Kumar and Mr. Mahesh Mariswamy, Marketing Operations Manager were present. Additionally, Mysuru Bhaskara Shubha, CRP and members from Sikshana team including Mr. Naveen Chikkanna, Director-Partnerships were also present."
Launch of Sikshana FLN and Digital Skills Awareness Program in Hosakote
"Sikshana FLN and Digital Skills Awareness Program was launched on August 5, 2024, at GKBMS Hosakote, Bangalore rural. The Program covers 104 government higher primary schools and 20 high schools in Hoskote. Mr. Sharath Bachegowda, MLA of Hosakote, Mr. Abhishek Ranjan, Sr Director and Global Head ESG at Brillio, Mr. Prasanna CEO of Sikshana Foundation were present during the launch."
An Interactive Session with Anganwadi workers
"On July 26, 2024, an interactive session was conducted with 10 Anganwadi workers (AWWs) at the Shivanahalli Gram Panchayat, Kanakapura. Sikshana Early Education (SEE) Program, a collaborative effort with ASHA for Education is focused on providing adequate support and training to AWWs for effective engagement in teaching, leading to an overall early child development. This engagement helped in procuring feedback from the AWWs for effective implementation and feedback to enhance its effectiveness."
Signing of MoU
"Sikshana Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ANSSIRD, under Panchayat Raj, Mysore to implement digital literacy and capacity building training programs for 5000 librarians across Karnataka. Smt. Shilpa Nag C T, IAS, Director of ANSSIRD, Mysore, and District Commissioner of Chamrajnagar, Mr. Manoj Kumar, DD Training, and Mr. Prasanna V R, CEO of Sikshana were present during the signing."

Program Launch of GDV with Amadeus team!
"GDV launch event was held on June 15, 2024,at Hundipura Grama Panchayat, Chamarajanagar, Karnataka. Ribu Choudary, Navendu Rashmi and volunteers from Amadeus participated in the event. Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Karnataka, Ms. Uma Mahadevan addressed the gathering virtually. Library supervisor, students, youth, Panchayat Development officer, Executive Officer and community members were also present."
Teachers' Conclave - Nelamangala Block
"During the Teachers’ conclave event held at Ankit Vista Green Village in Nelamangala on May 24, 2024, Sikshana team presented the journey at Nelmangala and key initiatives implemented towards strengthening foundational competencies among the students. The event had the presence of 17 Department officials with the Block Education Officer giving us permission for implementing the Sikshana STEM awareness program for the academic year 2024-25. Teachers from 77 schools also gave their valuable feedback about our inputs and highlighted about teacher learning materials."
Teachers’ Conclave - Maddur Block
"Sikshana Foundation organised a Teachers’ Conclave for the Maddur Block on March 28, 2024. The event brought together 21 teachers; 20 educational officers including Cluster Resource Persons and Block Resource Persons and seven members from the Foundation. This gave an opportunity for the teachers to share their feedback and suggestions with regards to enhancing the FLN Program implementation for the upcoming year."
Quiz Competition on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy
"During the past month, Sikshana Foundation, in collaboration with LTIMindtree and the Department of Education, organized FLN quiz competitions at cluster, block and district-level in various phases. In Chamarajanagar district, the FLN quiz competition was held on March 12, 2024, across 382 government higher primary schools (GHPSs), culminating in the final district-level quiz competition on March 22, 2024. A total of around 1146 students from 382 schools and 382 teachers participated in the cluster-level quiz competition, while 75 students from 25 schools and 25 teachers took part in the block-level quiz competition. GHPS Dinnahalli emerged as the winner at the final district-level competition. With the unprecedented support from all teachers, Department of Education officials, local leaders, parents and students the event was a successful one."
Harnessing renewable energy
"We are glad to partner with the United Way of Hyderabad and HSBC in their latest initiative aimed at harnessing renewable energy. This project involves installation of solar power infrastructure units in 35 government schools and 6 health centres, located in Bangalore, generating 159KW and 30KW respectively. The continuous supply of electricity from these solar units will directly benefit students by enabling them to use laptops and ensuring uninterrupted power for emergency situations in health centres. During the inaugural event held on March 19, 2024, Prasanna, CEO of Sikshana Foundation, emphasized the importance of sustainable solutions. He highlighted Sikshana Foundation's commitment to implementing sustainable practices across all its projects."
Umang Quiz Competition
"On March 19, 2024, Sikshana Foundation with support from Praj Foundation, hosted the "Umang" quiz competition based on FLN competencies at the block level, in Pune district, Maharashtra. 44 schools competed initially, 7 schools (70 students) advancing to the final round. We saw the participation of 21 teachers, both CRP and BRP and 4 parents. Mr. Vijay Ramachandran, Vice President of Praj Foundation was present at the event and appreciated the efforts. The top 5 schools received the Annual Award for excellence in implementing the Prerana Program, while 6 students were honored for their remarkable performance in peer learning groups and utilizing FLN workbooks effectively."
Sikshana Early Education Program
"On March 15th, 2024, we launched the Sikshana Early Education (SEE) program at Shivanahalli Grama Panchayat, Kanakapura. We're proud to support 10 Anganwadi centres, benefiting over 200 children aged 3 to 6 years. This collaborative effort with Asha for Education emphasizes our commitment to early childhood development. Present at the launch were Ms. Smitha Venkatesh, Ms. Shaifali, Mr. Naveen Chikanna from Sikshana Foundation, alongside Mr. Sudhi Gulur joining in virtually from Seattle, representing Asha for Education. Additionally, Ms. Saraswati, Assistant CDPO, WCD, GoK, was present at the event."
Science Day: Igniting Scientific Temperament
"Indigenous Technologies for Developed India" was the theme for this year’s National Science Day. Sikshana Foundation celebrated this day by involving 207 students from three schools in Kanakapura, Nelamangala, and Maddur taluks. More than 115 teachers and 50 educational officials also participated, with donor representatives from Brillio, ABB and CGI inaugurating the event in respective taluks. Students showcased their creative ideas through model and poster making and also took part in quizzes based on foundational literacy and numeracy. Posters displayed were related to awareness about waste management, success of Mission Chandrayaan-3 and environment protection. Science models across physics, chemistry and biology were showcased using the components provided by Sikshana."
Women in Engineering: Laptops given to Students
"On February 28, 2024, scholarships and laptops were distributed to 10 selected students as part of the Women in Engineering (WiE) Program, supported by Amadeus Software Labs Pvt Ltd at the PDEA college premises. These students belonged to PDEA college, JSPM college and Sri Ram Chandra College, Pune. Team members from Amedeus, Sikshana and college representatives were also present."
A panel discussion on innovation driving social change in rural areas.
"Sikshana Foundation participated in a panel discussion during Vihaan 10.0 at NMIMS on February 27, 2024. The focal point of the discussion was innovation for driving social change in rural areas. Prasanna, CEO, was a part of the panel and shared insights, experiences, and strategies to tackle crucial challenges confronting rural communities in India."
Teachers' Conclave
"On February 20th, 2024, a conclave was convened at GHPS Bettakote to mark the two-year intervention of Sikshana Foundation in Devanahalli. The event was attended by 40 higher primary school teachers and 7 cluster resource persons from the Devanahalli area. This gathering served as a platform for receiving feedback and suggestions, aimed at enhancing the program's implementation for the academic year 2024-25."
Mosaic Cultural Exchange Program
"In a unique initiative, students of BBMP School Kodandaramapuram in Bangalore interacted with Japanese students virtually. Dell's Mosaic ERG members held an online Cultural Quotient Improvement Program on Jan 30, 2024, where they connected 37 students of Grade 7 studying in BBMP School Kodandaramapura, Malleshwaram with 20 students from Grade 6 of Oodaira Elementary School, Nihonmatsu City in Japan. The students interacted and understood each other’s cuisines, clothing, sports and other cultural habits. It was a unique experience for Sikshana mentors, school students & authorities as they had a glimpse of the Japanese classroom, students and their routine and culture."
National Girl Child Day - 2024

Annual Sports Olympiad, 2024
"Students from government schools in Ramanagara, Kanakapura, Nelamangala, Bangalore South Zone 1 and 4, and Bangalore North showcased their athletic spirit in various games. Supported by Dell Technologies, the event on Jan 6th, 2024, saw 731 students participating in relay runs, volleyball, throwball, and more. 400 Dell volunteers provided valuable assistance to the event."
Celebrations on Mathematics Day
"This year on National Mathematics Day (Dec 22) which marks the birth anniversary of Indian mathematician Ramanujan, Sikshana team celebrated it with students from 44 schools across three blocks in Maharashtra and few schools in Karnataka. As part of the celebrations, group activities were planned which involved understanding mathematical concepts of numbers, conversion of units and fractions. The students thoroughly enjoyed the day and they understood the importance of mathematics. This helped them develop a positive attitude toward it."
Student Education Tour
"53 students from GHPS Thattekere, Kanakapura went on an education tour to Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological museum on December 12th, 2023. The students were accompanied by their teachers, volunteers from Brillio and Sikshana team. The visit to the museum is a continued effort to give exposure to the students to inculcate interest in science apart from enhancing their foundational competencies."
Program Launch: Women in Engineering
"A new batch of 15 talented young girls were inducted into Women in Engineering (WiE) Program supported by Amadeus Software Labs Pvt Ltd. The launch of the Program was hosted on Dec 11, 2023 at their office at PrestigeTech park, Bangalore. This marks another collaboration, a new one with Amadeus, who have been supportive of Sikshana's Programs like FLN, in the recent past. With the provision of laptops and scholarships, these young minds are now well-equipped to chart their path to success through this transformative initiative."
Exposure Visit for students to Visvesvaraya Museum
"50 students from class 4th to 7th from GHPS S Gollahalli, Chikkaballapur visited Visvesvaraya Museum in Bangalore on Nov 29, 2023. 19 volunteers from Target accompanied the students to the museum. The visit was an exposure to experiential learning which helped students inculcate interest in science and build a scientific temperament."
